About Me

Radiation Oncologist Specialist, Department of Radiation Oncology, Tawam Hospital, Al Ain, UAE. Fellow of Royal college of Radiology in Clinical Oncology -UK. She has previously worked as a consultant in B.L. Kapoor Multi-speciality Hospital-Delhi, Clinical associate in Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon, Manipal Pokhra College of Medical Sciences –Nepal and Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. She last worked in Dubai before joining Tawam Hospital in 2010. She is an alumnus of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal- and has over 15 years of work experience in the field of cancer and its management. Well-versed in IMRT, IGRT, Stereotactic Radiosurgery and Cyberknife of all sites, including prostate cancer, head & neck cancers, CNS tumours and gynaecological cancers. She is certified in Low-Dose Radiotherapy (LDRT) in Benign conditions such as osteoarthritis and Prostate Interstitial Brachytherapy. She has been awarded “WOMEN’S ACHIEVEMENT AWARD” BY Fortis Memorial Research Institute to recognise her excellence in work and patient care, and has multiple international publications under her belt. She has won awards for Best paper category in the biggest cancer conclave of UAE in Abu Dhabi for her research on Cervix Cancer in 2022 and 2024. She is particularly passionate about Gynaecological cancers like cervix and uterine malignancies and is extensively trained in brachytherapy for cervix ,sarcoma, breast and prostate cancer. She continues to spearhead several research projects and strongly advocates cancer prevention, early detection and palliation for end of life care. Empowering patients through education and fostering a supportive environment for those facing cancer, an active member of RCR, ESRO and AROI -Dr. Shilpi Roy integrates advanced radiation technique and holistic approach to patient care, and strives to enhance treatment outcomes and improve quality of life for her patients.
