Dr. Aisha AlShamsi

Dr. Aisha is a consultant pediatrician in genetic/metabolic service and as the division head of genetic/metabolic at Tawam Hospital.
She graduated 2006 from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) from the United Arab Emirates University. Following graduation, she was trained and practiced in Tawam Hospital, where she acquired the Arab Board diploma of medical specialization in pediatrics and passed MRCPCH certification. Later, she completed a fellowship program in biochemical genetics, which included full training in Pediatric Clinical genetics and metabolic for 3 years. She have been part of several ongoing collaborative research projects at Tawam Hospital and with international groups, and more than 65 research papers have been published. She is a vital and active department member, participating in training young physicians (residents, fellows) and sharing my knowledge in local and international conferences/meetings. She acquired administrative skills while being the department’s deputy Chief for eight years and division head of the Division of Medical Genetics and Metabolic in Tawam Hospital. She gained extensive expertise in managing patients with inborn errors of metabolism and genetic disorders.
